March 14, 15, 16 2008 : 3 Day Pilot Ground School

United States Ultralight Club 203, The Canyon Country Ultralight Club, is hosting a 3-day Sport Pilot Ground School.

Who Should Attend?

Anyone interested in exploring or expanding their interest in ultralight or light sport aircraft. This is a ground school designed to equip the attendees with the knowledge required to take and pass the FAA sport pilot knowledge test. This session has been attended by ultralight pilots who want to learn more about flight conditions, people who want to become sport pilots, GA pilots as refresher material and folks that just love learning about aviation in general.

When?

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 14, 15 and 16, 2008. Classes begin daily at 8:00 am

Cost

$250. Included is the ASA Sport Pilot text book. There is a ten person minimum and a twenty person maximum. The first twenty paid applicants will have seats reserved. In the event that the minimum seating is not achieved by February 29, the ground school will be cancelled and all monies paid will be refunded. This ground school was conducted in Mansfield in 2005 and was sold out well in advance of the event. Please sign up early to reserve your seat.

About Your Instructor

Mr. Jim Sweeney, http://www.sweeneycorp.com, has well over 3500 hrs. flying light aircraft. Certificates held are, commercial SEL, MEL, SES, Glider, PPC & Instrument, Ground instructor-Advanced, Flight instructor SEL, MEL, SES, Instrument. He has also been involved with ASTM committees defining the new regulations for light sport aircraft. Jim is a board member of The Illinois Ultralight Advisory Council and an FAA appointed Aviation Safety Counselor. He also serves as president of the North American Powered Parachute Federation, http://www.nappf.org and is a regular, featured guest, on http://www.ultraflightradio.com with Roy Beisswenger.
