Making Your Own Photo Page:
You're just a few clicks away from making your own photo page!
First, look up at the top right part of the page, just underneath the "Canyon Country Ultralight Club & Canyon Pilots Association" picture of the canyon.
Contents
The Link on the right says "Login"
You need to login. Click the login link and you'll see a place to enter youre user name and password
But I don't have a user name!
If you don't have one, it means you have to create an account. Click the UserPreferences link and follow the instructions below:
First, your Name: should be your FirstnameLastName. So Tom Freeman is TomFreeman
- Password: pick a password
- Email: enter your email address
- Click the Create Profile button
Pay close attention to the space right below the "Canyon Country Ultralight Club & Canyon Pilots Association" picture. When you create an account the site will tell you that right there, and when it fails it will report it there too.
You have to have a username to create a picture page, but you also have a little area on the site just for you. It's Admin.
So, say, Tom Freeman's liitle area on the site is TomFreeman.
You can put anything you want in your area: thoughts on flying, your plans, build notes, anything. Edit your page just like is described down in Adding notes to your picture page.
I have a user name
Click the login link, and enter your user name and password, and login) Remember, it's FirstnameLastName, (Tom Freeman is TomFreeman).
Yikes! I get all all kinds of options when I log in!!!
The first time you login you'll be taken to your UserPreferences screen. It'll only show up the first time, so just ignore it for now by clicking on the Home on the left side of the page.
It says my user name instead of Login
Great! You're logged in! Click on the Club Photos on the left side of the page.
I need to make a picture page
On The Club Page
On the club page, you'll see two sections: "Club Photos" and "Members Photo Pages".
We want to make a new Picture Page. Enter a name in the text box beside the "Create a Picture Page For Me" button, and click the button
Thoughts On Naming Your Picture Page
You can create as many picture pages as you want, as a member. Maybe you want to organize your pictures: one pages for pictures of your plane, one page for pictures of fall in the canyon, maybe one page for flying out west or something. Or maybe you want to put all your pictures on one page. Start one way and change your mind later - it doesn't really matter to the site, it's just the way you want to organize everything.
I see a box of text with 5 buttons above it
Good. Just press the "Save Changes" button for now. You'll be sent back to the Club Photos page.
I see... not that
Ok, there's an error somewhere. Did you login? Or did you forget to give your picture page a name? The site will give you an error right below the picture of the canyon at the top of every page.
Example: What happens when you forget to name your picture page.
If you forgot to name your picture page, just hit the back button on your browser, give give your picture page a name, and try again.
If not, make sure you're logged in. It's easy to forget this.
I have a picture page already
If you have a picture page already, or have just created one with the steps above, great! We're ready to add pictures to it!
Adding Pictures To Your Pages
The Members Photo Pages section of the ClubPhotos page lists all the photo pages that have been created.
Find your picture page in the list and click on it.
- Click the attachments link at the top of the page (right by where your user name is).
- Under File To Upload, click Browse.
- Click the upload button
- Rinse, repeat
NOTE: Don't fill in the "Rename" box, it's not required (and usually just messes things up!!!)
There's a movie of this, if you prefer to see it. Watch The movie of it (Watch out dialup users, it's pretty big!)
Seeing your picture page
To get out of the attachments screen, click on ClubPhotos, find your picture page listed and click on it. A gallery of your pictures is created for you
Adding Captions to your images
When you see the pictures on the page, you can click on them and it takes you to like a blow-up of the picture, with "PREV THUMBS NEXT" "rotate left" "rotate right" "delete" text and buttons across the top.
Below the picture on that page is a text box: enter your caption (what will appear when the user hovers over it) and press ENTER on your keyboard.
Watch a movie on it, but be patient: even users with cable internet will need to wait a few minutes! The movie on captioning!
Adding notes to your picture page
So you want to add build notes to the picture of your plane, let's say. At the top, next to your user name, click "Edit (GUI)". You can add any text you want here - but do not remove the "[ [Gallery] ]" text, because that's what makes the gallery. but if you want to put notes before or after it that's just fine. Save Changes when you're ready to save your notes.
